Hiking trail from the Baumettes to the calanque de Sormiou

Instead of taking the most obvious path, which is getting to the calanque de Sormiou by following the road from la Cayolle, here is an alternative itinerary from the parking of the Baumettes. I recommend you this lovely path that will take you to the main parking of the calanque de Sormiou behind the beach.

Route from the Baumettes the Sormiou (recommended itinerary)

• Distance / Duration: Sormiou 2km (50min)
  Plan the same waking duration for the way back.
• Starting point: Les Baumettes
  In the summertime the parking is often full, but there are spots in the small streets lower.
• Difficulty level: Easy path, quite frequented path.
• Route: from the parking of les Baumettes, located at the gate of Morgiou road, go through the park of the Baumettes, and at the end, on the left, take the red-marked path that goes up to a large path (DFCI). Take the path on the right for 250 meters until you get to the col des Baumettes on the left. Pass by the col, then the descent on Sormiou starts here and ends at the big sand parking.
